The Chobots Market

Hello Chobots,

The Chobots Team have introduced a new and improved feature for our Chotopia players. Have you ever wanted to sell your wardrobe clothing to other Chobots, and vice versa - buy from them? Well, now you can do just that! Here's a short introduction to what it is all about:

At the "Chobots Market", you can auction off your item or bid with bugs. It is a very good way to buy and sell items here where best deals are offered, as it is the centre of commerce and is a great addition to help build the Cho economy.

The post will now conclude here. For a detailed, step-by-step guide and more information on how to get started, click "Read more >>". Please leave any queries and general feedback in the comments section below, and be sure to report any glitches or bugs to support@chotopia.us.

That's all for now,
Katic on behalf of the Team
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Directly from your wardrobe, you can put unwanted items up for sale that other players may find valuable! All you have to do is drag the item into the blue bin on the bottom left. It is noteworthy to mention that the Market is moderated, and you are not allowed to sell exclusive Shop, agency, citizens, or prize items won from contests.

you may want to clear your cache if you don't see it!
After clicking "yes" when prompted "Are you sure you want to put this item on the Market?", a new tab will open in your browser. You will be asked to log in. On this new listing page, you can the set the starting price as well as choose when the auction closes. Clicking "Add item to the Market" will make your listing public to everybody! Below are some examples:

Want the Mad Hatter hat? To bid for it, you will need bugs in your Market balance. Click "Add Funds" in the navigation bar below, and enter the amount of funds you would like to add to the Market from your account to make the deposit, or you can also use it to add bugs back to your Chobot.

To place a bid, first hover over the item listing and press on the green "bid" button. Before following through, enter the exact number of bugs that you wish to pay (it must be higher than the starting/current bid). Though make sure your Chobot can afford it with enough bugs in its balance at the end of the billing period, or otherwise action will be taken and you may lose your privileges.

The idea is that all Chobots have a chance to bid for these items within a limited amount of time - the person who is last to bid (the highest bidder) wins and will be able to redeem the item when the auction ends. To complete the transaction, you will be asked to pay for the item to be automatically added to your account. However, if you refuse to pay or change your mind, you will be charged an additional fine anyway.

On the other hand, the seller must confirm the transaction before you can receive your item. When the withdrawal occurs, the item from storage will be transferred to the bidder's wardrobe whilst bugs are deducted from their account and added into your Market balance. ALSO - You can view the auctions you're winning, and the auctions you've won.

As a seller, you have the ability to cancel your auction if you've decided that you no longer want to sell it or if there are no bidders. However, bear in mind that doing so will cost you 5,000 bugs. This also applies when you decide to decline the deal at the last-minute, and as a result the bidder will be given 110% of their winning bid as compensation.

What happens if time runs out and nobody bids for the item? You will be able to simply take the item back and it will appear in your wardrobe again. Don't forget that once you've placed an item in the auction, it does not belong to you any longer but is stored in the Market.
