Nichos Contest

Greetings everyone,

Chotopians all over have spotted Nichos doing no good around the Mission Agency and we need your help to beat those pesky Nichos.

To participate in the mission, you will need a few items such as a lightbulb hat, speed magic, and invisibility magic to sneak past the evil nichos.

You have until September 3rd to defeat the Nichos, the top three contestants will receive some sweet prizes!

Coins Rain Champions

Hi friends,

It is time to conclude the Coins Rain contest, which commenced earlier this week. Our Chotopia users have yet again demonstrated that they are the most dedicated group of people! Take a look at the standings:

•     1st place: 5 days of citizenship and 5,000 bugs 
•     2nd place: 4 days of citizenship and 4,000 bugs 
•     3rd place: 3 days of citizenship and 3,000 bugs

Well done to Chooseaname, Inferno, and Gotushka for the week's worth of points you were able to rack up. The results were unbelievably close!

I find Coins Rain a particularly challenging game and am so proud to see that our players are so skilled! We hope you enjoy your well-deserved prizes.

Fashion Show Party

Hi friends!

I love dressing up my avatar on Chotopia, as your clothes can express and represent who you are, and I'm sure many of you enjoy doing so as well! We have a variety of clothes and items to pick out and match with at the shops (including the $hop), but sometimes it could be expensive or only exclusively for citizens. Either way, we are still a very fashionable community and I think it's time we hold a fashion show party this Saturday!

Back to School Comic

Hi friends!

Summer is coming to an end, meaning school starts soon (or already has for some of us)! Are you excited? Are you nervous? What do you anticipate this forthcoming academic year? Save your thoughts as these are all questions we would like you to express and share with the community through comic strips as your creative outlet!

To enter this contest, it requires originality and your imagination. The only rules are that it has to be relevant to our 'Back to School' theme and Chotopia related. You will also need to use the provided template (right click to save it as an image file) to present what you think returning to school will turn out to be!

Recycled tips:

•     A good storyline will boost your chances of winning, as well that creativity and effort will help make your comic strips stand out. 
•     You can take screenshots to edit and crop as well as lay out both images and text onto the template using an image editing software like Adobe Photoshop. 
•     Your layout arrangement can be however you'd like, but please remember to number your boxes in the sequence order that it should be read in. 
•     You can have a maximum of two parts to your story, as in you are allowed to make it two comic strips long if it all doesn't fit onto one. 
•      You may only submit up to one entry in total!
•     Other Chobots can be featured in your comic as different characters. BUT, it will only count as one entry for one Chobot. For instance, you may ask your friends to help you, but this would be your entry and not theirs. Be sure to include your username. 
•     Please upload it to imgur.com and comment the link(s) below!

Your submissions will be reviewed on August 31st, so any late ones will not be considered. We are looking to reward our winners generously!

Coins Rain Competition

Hi friends,

Are you up for a very challenging solo game? Well, we have just opened a Coins Rain Contest to run this week! Head inside the Cafe to get started.

Directions: Collect a maximum quantity of points, choosing identical colour of coins!!

Now, there is no way to lose this game, meaning you will really have to persist in order to beat it. The machine closes on Sunday, 28 August, so good luck playing before time ticks away! I will be extremely impressed if you can make it past the third level!

Sliders Competition Results

Hi friends!

It has been over a week since the Chopajev (aka sliders) competition had started, but it's now time to close up the contest and announce the results!

The goal of the game is to knock all of your opponent's pieces off the board before losing all of yours, requiring good aim and skill, and it could sometimes get really competitive towards the end! Let's see who our top three competitors are:

•     1st place: 7 days of citizenship and 5,000 bugs
•     2nd place: 5 days of citizenship and 3,500 bugs
•     3rd place: 3 days of citizenship and 2,000 bugs

Baking Contest Results

Hi friends!

The Olympics Baking contest has come to an end, and it is time to announce our best chef! It was very clear to me who our winner is, as we didn't get many entries, so I'm a little disappointed with the community (we can do better than this!). Let's take a look at her delicious entry:

Awesome job, Katara! I bet that the swimmer in the middle was Michael Phelps on your lovely cake (cut me a slice too please!). You will receive 10 days of citizenship, 10,000 bugs, and a pair of gingerbread magic wings for being Chotopia's best (and only) baker.

Cholympics Conclusion, Party Recap

Hi friends!

Wow, what a week!

The Cholympics have finally finished today, and I can hardly believe how many medals were given out to our players. I had such a wonderful time hosting the Cholympics, and I can hardly wait to host another one in a few years again. Hoping that you all enjoyed it just as much as I did, I went to ask some of you what you thought about the Cholympics and here's what you said:

Did you enjoy the Cholympics?

Harvey: "Yeah, I thought it brought more people online and it was just fun to do different competitions."

Blaziken: "Yes. It was fun and I had a good time. The activities were unique and fun."

What was your favorite event in the Cholympics and why?

Julian: "Definitely the Tug of War event for me. Not just because I was successful and finished third, but the fact we had to click non-stop for an hour was incredible! I think the true champions showed their class there.

Tina4321: "My favorite event in the Cholympics was the tri-board tournament. It's my favorite because I get to play with my friends, meet new people and I'm good at the sliders game."

Plinfalie: "I think sweet battle because its funny to punch with food!"

Was there anything that you disliked about the Cholympics?

British: "No, The whole Cholympics idea was amazing! no one can regret that, it was really fun and made more people get on."

Octavia: "I thought it was great! However, it was really difficult for the players to have an equal chance at playing!"

Did you like the decorations made for the Cholympics?

Blaine: "It was definitely more than I expected from the event — but I believe, decorations and all, that I speak for everyone when I say that the staff went above and beyond to make this event."

Emma2408: "Yeah! I love all the decorations, especially the Olympic flags and colorful ribbons!"

Using only one word, describe what you thought about the Cholympics!

Muffin: "Enjoyable!"

Cleafakiezz: "Intense (and by that I mean it very intense because it was a very close competition in all of the events that happened)!"

Leonardo: "Competitive!"

It makes me extremely happy to hear that you all had fun, even while being competitive, but don't be too disappointed that it's over — we have many more planned events coming up!

Also, it's time to announce our best Olympian... or should I say Olympians! We had a surprising tie between two of our most outstanding players who did their very best in all contests and activities. Congratulations to Jesse and Plinfalie for winning the most points in all games; both will be receiving a week of citizenship, 10,000 bugs, and a golden Cholympics ribbon for their amazing effort and achievement.

Citizen's Party, Sliders Competition

Our proud citizens on Chotopia have a lot of duties and responsibilities; but, being a citizen also comes with its perks such as citizenship, bugs, special locations, exclusive parties, a larger variety of things to shop, a cool green chat bubble, and so much more!

Cow Mission Competition Results

Hi friends!

The Cow Mission competition had to end a few days early as we needed the scoreboard for our Cholympics event today, but boy, we have some hardcore farmers! It was a race to the end between our top two winners for first place, but in the end, one was crowned champion of Cow Mission. Lets take a glance at the scoreboard!

Cholympics Opening Ceremony Recap, Agent Poll

Yippee! I had such a great time yesterday at the Cholympics Opening Ceremony, and I hope you all did too! Decorations were put up all around Chotopia and some new items for this event were rained. Let's take a look at some pictures that were captured at the party:

 

Now that the ceremony is over, it is time for the Cholympic Games! Today, we have Tug of War at the Rope Street. Remember, each event starts at 8 pm Cho-time and lasts for only one hour, so play your best to win a medal and other prizes!

A while ago, we asked you what contest you'd like to see soon and one of the most up voted choices was baking! And because the Olympic Games are currently on-going, we are going to have a Olympics Baking Contest!

•     You can bake whatever you like (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc.) as long as it has an Olympics theme (it does not need to be Chotopia related as well, but you can for extra points!)

Cow Mission Competition

Hey friends,

We are hosting a Cow Mission contest and the scoreboards have already opened! It's time to get your farm on since Daisy is starving! Please ensure she gets enough feed by tending the soil, planting and watering the seeds, and scything the grass. Also, don't forget to defend off those Nichos using your mega gun!

The competition will run until the 12th of August - that gives you plenty of time. Place as first, second, or third to score yourself something rewarding!

Cholympics 2016

Hi friends!

All across the world, countries are preparing their finest players for this year's Summer Olympics in Rio. The purpose of the modern Olympic Games is to promote peace and unity within the international community through the medium of sports, and we know that our community here on Chotopia is filled with players who are competitive yet have good sportsmanship. Because we like to recognize our community's best players and how well we work together as one, we will be having our own Cholympics!

This year, Cholympics will be hosted from August 8th - 14th starting at 8 pm Cho-Time (4pm EST, 1pm PST) every day throughout the next week. Decorations will be placed around Chotopia and new items will be made for this special event.

Each day, except for the Opening Cholympics Ceremony (party) on August 8th, the game scoreboards/contests for each specific day will be open for one hour only. During this hour, you will need to give your biggest effort in placing first, second, or third place. If you place in any of these, you will receive a medal, like the Olympics, along with bugs and citizenship.

At the end of our Cholympics, we will look at all of our winners and find our top player who placed best in all games in total. This user will receive a very special prize for their achievement in the Cholympics!

Oh, before I forget, don't forget to take this invitation to the opening ceremony! There will be lots of magic, music, rain, and much more - so make sure you attend!

Space Racing Competition

Hey Chobots,

Summer on Chotopia has been full of fun.
We have been working hard to make sure everybody has been having the time of their lives and enjoying it all with their friends. Before our summer of fun comes to an end, we've decided to host a space racing competition!

This is a multiplayer game so you will have to find friends who will battle to the finish with you.
Hopefully you will have better luck finding an opponent than I did! You have until the 7th of August to become number one, the top three racers will be rewarded with some sweet prizes.
