We here at Chotopia have been hard at work and are excited to announce our new website!

Along with the new website theme, you will notice a new feature called "My Account". Here you can change your Chotopia account settings and password. The 'Family' feature will be discontinued early next month.

Sometimes things aren't working right and we want to let you know when they aren't. With Chotopia Status, you can stay up to date with important announcements about outages and scheduled maintenance.

We'd love to hear your feedback! Send comments or concerns to support@chotopia.us and we'll reward you with 5,000 bugs! Don't forget to mention your player's name.

Christmas and New Years Party Recap, Game Night

Hey Chobots!

The party hosted by the Chobots Team was a blast! It featured rain, amazing magic, entertaining music, and lots of dancing by tradition. Thanks to all attendees for making it so enjoyable and fun! Also, the Team hosted Game Night for the very first time as to conclude the final event of this 2015 year. Meaning, all Cho minigames were opened for an hour and only 1st placers were prized! 2015 Scrapbook Contest + Party

Hi friends!

Ready? Set... go! Grab your creativity hats and dig out all of your memories of this year on Chotopia! We've had so many good times this year and we would love you to recall some of those special moments and craft a scrapbook of 2015! There are multiple things you could do in this contest: write some short stories, create a collage of pictures, make a timeline, and the list goes on! It's up to you to make your scrapbook unique and stand-out as much as possible.

Important note: In order to enter this contest, you will need to use these templates (provided below) and have your work uploaded and posted as a link in the comments. If either of these requirements are not met, your entry will not be judged. Only one entry per contestant may be entered, so make sure you get everything you want to express into your artwork!

You will have until January 2nd, 2016 to submit your entry. Best of luck to you all!

Sweet Battle Champions, New Contest

Hey Chobots,

The Sweet Battle competition has now ended, and there are some cool rewards to be handed to the winners! Over the past few days, our users have been fighting against their friends (don't worry, it was all in a friendly nature) to place number one out of the three competitors! Below are the names of top three contenders whom dominated in this game without cheating, as well as the rewards they earned according to the position they placed.

In 1st place came Kerem with 16.58 points
Tied for 2nd place were Kadyn and Sergio with 7.27 points
In 3rd place came Geraldine1 with 6.58 points

•     1st place: 9 days of citizenship, 8,500 bugs, 15 candies
•     2nd place: 7 days of citizenship, 7,000 bugs, 10 candies
•     3rd place: 6 days of citizenship, 6,500, 5 candies

I have to say that this contest was incredibly close, it just goes to show that a couple more points can really make a difference. In this case, it could've completely changed the standings of second and third place. Thanks to all participants for playing this round, and well done to the winners!

P.S. Chobots, here's another opportunity to win prizes! We've started a Space Racing Contest - the last in-game competition to expect of 2015! Christmas Drawing Contest Results

Hi friends!

It has been three weeks since a drawing contest was opened, and after taking some time to review your entries, we've had to pick three winners that we thought were the best in showcasing creativity and the festive season! Before I announce the winners, I would like to say that it is admirable how hard you all worked on these entries as I was personally blown away by the thought that went into them. Although there are only three winners for this contest, this does not define your artistic ability. It's clear to me you are all artists. In the future, there will definitely be more opportunities for your potential to be recognized. Without further ado, the following have been rewarded:

3rd place: Hicup! You win 7 days of citizenship, 5,000 bugs, and 5 candies.

After two long weeks of heated competition at the Academy, it is time to conclude the Checkers and Sliders in-game contests. Let's take a look at which users worked their way up to the top three:

Santa's Arrival

Santa has flown in on his sleigh. This winter, he has landed at the Space Quay and upon completing his quest, you will receive a surprise gift; a special Christmas item! 

If you haven't already, go help him recover his three missing bells now! Also, Santa will gift you something different each week during his temporary stay.

Checkers & Sliders, Christmas Drawing Contest

Hey Chobots,

If you've read my last post, I assured you more contests will come to give you all the opportunity to win fabulous prizes as well as being mentioned in a blog post! The Checkers and Chopajev (Sliders) contest starts today, which the scoreboards have already opened for. You've been given until the 12th of December to earn the highest amount of points and rank in top three. Get playing and join in on the competition by playing with your friends at the Academy!

If you're not up for participating in an in-game type of competition, we've also decided to open up a Christmas themed designing contest. Rather than handing you one standard festive themed template, you have two options: A Christmas tree and a bauble! The templates are very simple, so it's up to you to make them exciting!

Follow the certain rules below to guide you: 

•     It has to have some relation to Christmas/the festive season or winter. (You can relate it to Chobots, but it isn't compulsory)
•     You are not limited in terms of creating your artwork! That's right, you can create your piece of art however you like whether that be through a different software, or simply printing out the template as a colouring page and drawing it on by hand. Here are some suggestions of ways to edit your chosen template: printing the template out and drawing, programs or software platforms for creating graphics like Adobe Flash or Photoshop are acceptable too. There are many options so if you find an idea that works best for you, go with it!
•     Try to be as creative as possible with your design(s). The more creative, the better!
•     You may submit more than one entry; feel like you would like to try designing both? Go ahead! Multiple submissions are encouraged!
•     Please upload it to tinypic.com or imgur.com and provide us with the link so that we can view the masterpieces you've created

Although it seems difficult, try and make your work the most original. Don't stick to the typical Christmas tree decoration designs, test out designs that are unusual! This contest ends on the 19th of December and the in-game competition ends on the 12th, so for those who are planning to do both have their work cut out for them! But remember: cheating, plagiarism/theft is forbidden. Please report to support@chotopia.us with proof attached, if you do find any Chobots acting suspiciously.

Thanksgiving Party Recap! Garbage Collector Contest!

Hey everybody!

Earlier today, the Chobots Team threw a huge party to celebrate Thanksgiving. Our users danced to music, caught rained items, and enjoyed the awesome magic! Big thanks to Bebot for capturing it all:

...There were turkeys everywhere! I hope you all had loads of fun, and thank you for attending. Don't worry if you couldn't make it this time - you can expect more parties to be hosted soon. In other news, we need your help with cleaning up the floating space waste. The Garbage Collector contest will run from today until the 28th of November, leaving you almost a week to make our Chotopian world a greener, pollution-free place!

Hello Chobots,

For the past week or so, our users have been busy farming away at the Mission Agency. The Cow Mission competition has finally come to an end and the results are in! Without further ado, here are our best farmers:

Welcome Lava! + Thanksgiving Party

Hey Chobots!

The Team expanded when Lava joined us; this also marks her return to Chotopia. You may have bumped into Lava before, but still send her your congratulations! She is a very experienced user, who has been with us since the early days of Chotopia and knows the ins and outs of the game. Feel free to approach her, as she's always willing to help.

Moving on with more exciting news, we are hosting a party on the weekend before Thanksgiving day, which is next Saturday! Thanksgiving is a national holiday, celebrated annually in the United States and in Canada. It is all about showing appreciation for the "blessing of the harvest" and "of the preceding year." Updates, updates, and MORE updates!

Hey Chobots!

We've brought a handful of updates to the game; there have been quite a number of changes for only we are a week into November. To kick-start this post, it's time to announce the most anticipated update, one in particular that many of our users have all been waiting for! Outside temperatures are beginning to drop, and that only means we’ll all need warmer clothing - to prepare for the coldest season, we've now added items to the catalogues.

It's here! The winter clothing shipment has finally arrived, you can pick them up at cafe street from our snowman friend. 

Next, the exchange is officially back! It has been upgraded and re-opened to all users, and instead of Halloween treats... you can collect candy canes from completing quests and missions around Chotopia. If you would like to find out more about this feature, there is a whole post dedicated to the exchange and Candy Shop, which can be located here.

Finally, along with being restocked, cool magic items are now available for purchase in the Candy Shop! They sure look like they're selling out fast!

Pinball Contest Results, Cow Mission, Thanksgiving Comics

Hi Chobots,

The pinball contest has come to an end. After a long week of shooting small metal balls across sloping boards to strike various targets, our users have managed to score some pretty impressive points. Let's take a look at which Chobots triumphantly made their way to the top three! 

In 1st place came Fitim with 24,008.00 points
In 2nd place came Laceh with 17,697.00 points
In 3rd place came Speedy2 with 14,955.00 points
And Courtney, who almost tied in 3rd place with 14,947.00 points

Moving on, we've decided to start another competition - this time, you will need to farm hay! From today until a week from now, the 14th of November, you have enough time to ensure that Daisy is well fed. So, what are we waiting for? Grab your spade, seeds, watering can, scythe, bucket, megogun and get to work! Go grow and harvest those crops before they are stolen by invasive Nichos! Remember, if you see a Chobot acting suspiciously, you can file a report to support@chotopia.us via email. 

Simultaneously for the first time, we are also introducing a new contest, which we see as a fantastic opportunity for you to unleash your creativity. If partaking in a non in-game contest is in your interest, consider creating a Chobots Thanksgiving comic strip!

Be creative, be original, make it entertaining, make it humorous! The only rules are that it has to be about Thanksgiving and Chobots related, and you will have to use the template above (save it as an image file) to help you present it in an organised manner. Here are some tips:

•     It is always a good idea to have a clear structure or plot to your story.
•     You can take screenshots to edit and crop, as well as lay out both images and text onto the template using an image-editing software like Adobe Photoshop.
•     Your layout arrangement can be however you'd like. Please remember to number your boxes in the sequence order that it should be read in.
•     You can have a maximum of two-parts to your story, as in you are allowed to make it two comic strips long if it all doesn't fit onto one. 
•     Other Chobots can be featured in your comic as different characters. BUT, it will only count as one entry for one Chobot. For instance, you may ask your friends to help you, but this would be your entry and not theirs. Also, be sure to include your username.
•     Please upload it to tinypic.com or imgur.com and provide us with the link in the comments section below, so that we can all view your amusing comics! 

It should be fun - I would encourage you to all participate! Once again, our pinball winners deserve a massive congratulations. Head over to Mission Agency to start farming, and as always, we look forward to reading your submissions. They will be reviewed on November 19th, which means we won't be accepting any late entries.

The Chobots Team have introduced a new and improved feature for our Chotopia players. Have you ever wanted to sell your wardrobe clothing to other Chobots, and vice versa - buy from them? Well, now you can do just that! Here's a short introduction to what it is all about:

At the "Chobots Market", you can auction off your item or bid with bugs. It is a very good way to buy and sell items here where best deals are offered, as it is the centre of commerce and is a great addition to help build the Cho economy.

Winter is Coming, Pinball Contest

Hey Chobots!

It is early November, and it's time to deck the halls! The Chobots Team have put up beautiful festive decorations around our Utopian world - I see snow, snowmen, Christmas trees, stockings, presents, ornaments, and all sorts of things. Always remember to dress in warm clothing to protect your Chobot from the cold!

Also, we've started another well-known Gamezone contest. This time, our users will be competing to rack up the most points in Pinball. The scoreboards close on the 11th of November, leaving you more than a week to make your way to the top. And of course, the winners will be gifted special presents. To get started, I suggest you all read over the instructions very carefully to familiarise yourselves with the controls.

Get maximum points by not letting the ball fall down! To hit the ball, press "z" and "l" or just move your mouse to the left and to the right. To push it, press "x" and "." or just hold down the left mouse button and move it in the necessary direction!

Please bear in mind that cheating is not allowed; if you see a user acting unfairly, do report to support@chotopia.us with visual proof/a screenshot attachment. Finally, Santa Claus is still making his way here, riding into town on his reindeer sleigh, so be on the lookout for him!

Treats Exchange & Candy Shop Opening + Sweet Battle winners

Hey Chobots,

I am here today with exciting news to deliver! To start, the Chobots Team have fixed a couple of glitches that our users were experiencing with the 'Halloween Treats' exchange earlier on - as of now, you should find that it works smoothly. Along with updating and re-writing the exchange system completely, the Candy Shop has also been renovated, offering exclusive items at affordable prices. It will officially open in November.

Additionally, all sold out shop items have been restocked. Brand new items will be purchasable in due course, when the specific in-stock amount runs out! Click here to browse the Candy Shop.

FAQ:

How do I earn treats? As we've mentioned before, you can earn them by accepting and completing any of the in-game quests. To name a few: The Reaper, Choproff, Chistochob, and Samantha will reward you. Upon completion, you will receive 2 treats.

What do I do with the treats? How does the exchange system work? Once you have surpassed 200 treats (with at least this many), they can be exchanged for 15 candies. You will be prompted the messsage:

click "yes" to receive 10 candies

What are candies for? Candies are used as the currency of the "Candy Shop", hence the name. You can buy candies with a credit card (please ask for your parent(s)' permission), or you may earn and trade in treats to obtain them. When you have enough candies to pay for your desired item, hit the arrow button to be redirected. You will be asked to log in to confirm your purchase. Your item(s) should be appear on your Chobot shortly after you refresh.

Halloween Party Recap! Sweet Battle Contest!

Hey Chobots!

We hope you all had a fun time celebrating Halloween with us, as much as we enjoyed hosting it! The party featured lots and lots of cool magic, exclusive Halloween items were rained, and Shadow and Rain played awesome music for our users to jam and dance to. It was spooky, and rather scary too as the Chlos Lab was dimly lit. Thank you all for coming, and for making this year's Halloween party a blast. With that being said, we hope you are still energised from the bash because another highly competitive contest has started! The Sweet Battle scoreboards close in a week from today.
